Dr Karen Ribbons
Official role at CRI: Clinical Trials
What does that mean to you? I look after the running of our research projects, to make sure that we are on track with all aspects of our studies. This includes taking care of all regulatory, ethics and administrative aspects of our projects and working with members of our study team, including clinical and research staff, and of course the most important members of our team – our study participants, to make sure that all of our procedures and assessments are being performed in the best possible way that will enable the objectives of the project to be reached. I also endeavour to encourage and assist our study team by providing a happy and productive work environment.
What is your favourite part of your work? Working in a team of like-minded people who share a common goal of improving peoples’ journey along the road of rehabilitation and recovery. The breadth of knowledge that exists amongst the CRI team, means that every day I learn something new. I enjoy problem solving and enjoy the challenges and rewards my role provides.
How do you look after your own health and wellbeing? Engaging in activities that let me experience the 5 Fs – Fun, Family, Fins, Flippers and Feathers!!
