Professor Michael Nilsson

Official role at CRI: Co-Director

What does that mean to you? It means I work on many things that ultimately influence the direction and long-term success of CRI. The role brings opportunities to work with different people and organisations to make the goals and visions happen. I favour a team-oriented, inclusive leadership style, which has always worked well and provided me with energy and motivation and has in the end led to a stronger decision-making process. In my role, I draw from my background in science, medicine, leadership, entrepreneurship, and business.

What is your favourite part of your work? They are many, for example: finding and defining new opportunities, ideas and projects; working on projects with the CRI Team; Strategic planning; Working with different stakeholders; Being a part of something that could make a difference for people in need of new and improved models of care.

How do you look after your own health and wellbeing? Spending time with family and friends, walking the dog, working in the garden, spending time on the water, boating and sailing.
